Last weekend, a good friend Brian Suerth asked I would help him shoot a music video he was directing. Like most music videos there wasn’t a budget to speak of so everyone involved was there on volunteer basis. We asked a couple others and thankfully they said yes. So with our super small nimble crew, we were able to get in and out of 6 locations, shoot time lapses, and complete the video...

Winter Update
MN finally has snow again and I have been able to get out and shoot some snow this past week. Some pretty sick stuff went down, both on and off boards.

Red Bull Crashed Ice
Well, Crashed Ice is over. It was a very productive (but cold) couple of days of shooting. One of the highlights was definitely seeing Cameron Naasz representing the US on the podium once again, especially on his home turf.
Minneapolis is flooding
Today started out fairly slowly. I ran errands, reviewed some footage from this past weekend, etc. On the way home, I was driving across the Hennepin bridge when all of a sudden traffic came to a halt. In front of us was a large river running through the streets of downtown Minneapolis. While deciding whether or not to cross, I grabbed my camera and started taking photos. Then, as the water...
1st shoot of 2013
Despite the early call time and the cold temps, the first shoot of 2013 went off without a hitch. It was really fun working with some good friends, as well as catching up with others while in town. Let’s keep it up gang.

Pretty stoked to share this, TransWorld Wakeboarding picked yet another one of my photos in their Top 10 photos of 2012 on twwake.com Click the link above to check out the other photos!
The best seat in the house.
This past weekend I spent a better part of my time at First Avenue. Probably one of my favorite venues to see a show and for obvious reasons, the main subject of a project I was working on. While shooting Solid Gold perform their set Friday night, I was able to set down the video for a few songs and snap away a few photos. Though many may argue as to where the “best” seat in the...
It snowed today.
And that is pretty cool.

Thanksgiving Vacation
Vacations are a necessity, it’s a time to get away, relax, and explore new places with friends. It’s also a good time to take more photographs. Even though that’s what I do while I am at work, it’s nice to be able to find the time to make something for myself and those close to me. Besides, it’s fun, and proof that I really do love what I do.

The past two months.
I’ve been a bit quiet on here for a while now, and that isn’t without reason. The past two months have been quite crazy. It was long, it was tiring, but it was a lot of fun. Everyone worked their butts off and as a result, I think there is going to be a lot of good material that is going to come out of this. I’m definitely excited to show the final products, but not just yet....

Wetsuit weather
The air is getting a bit colder here in Minnesota. Had to break out the wetsuits today for a ride. Even though it’s cold, it’s always a fun time of the year.
Happy Labor Day Weekend.
Hope everyone got out there and had a good labor day weekend.

Road Trippin'
A few weeks back Alex Horner Adam Buck and I hopped into the Red Bull MXT and headed off to Vegas for another Winch Session’s episode. Along the way we took in some of the sites, enjoyed the scenery, and even ran into a few familiar faces. The episode launches soon, it’s definitely one of the best ones yet.

MN Major
I thought I would share a few photos from the MN Major bike ride that I covered this past weekend. The event was hosted by pro motocross rider, Ryan Dungey, and all the proceeds went to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. For more info check out www.mnmajor.com

Quick Little Trip.
Just got home from a quick trip down to Orlando to get some shots of JD for one of the magazines. While there I had the opportunity to shoot with Scott Stewart, Brad Smeele, and Kyle Alberts as well. It was probably one of the more productive trips I have been on. We got a lot done and everyone put in a ton of hard work. Keep an eye out for something awesome in the next couple of months.

Lost at sea.
Just got home this past week from a vacation. Even though it should considered a time of relaxation, I cannot go far without my camera.
Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water… VISUAL MOMENTS ARE BACK!

Last night was the screening for the Z-Fest Film Festival. Our film was able to take several awards including 2nd place, Best Music, Best Actress and Audience favorite. I’m pretty excited to share it with all of you. Enjoy!
Mexico
A couple weeks back I got a phone call on a Friday asking if I could be in California on Monday and in Mexico on Wednesday. They wanted me to shoot the Baja 250 for good friends Film Matters. I had to jump on the opportunity to join the crew, knowing that it would be an adventure. And adventure it was, in one week I saw someone get a passport in under 4 hours, a car roll over on a beach, some...
Duluth
Last week we finally got snow in Minnesota which obviously brought several video crews into town. Felt good to get out and shoot in the snow.

A good morning.
While many successful projects/shoots are rewarded with “victory beers” at the nearest bar, some of the best ones end with breakfast. This morning was definitely no exception to that rule. Good times guys, good times.
It’s been a while since I have been this excited to share a piece I have worked on. Several months back director Josh Thacker approached me about DP’ing a piece for a poet he had recently seen perform. After hearing the poem for the first time I knew it was one of those projects that just HAD to get done. I can honestly say that I am way more excited about the content of this piece...
Foggy morning
This morning I woke up to a text from my girlfriend telling me that it was crazy foggy outside and I needed to go shoot. After looking out the window it only took me a few minutes to get out the door. Starting on the greenway and making my way around the lakes I casually walked and took some photos. It definitely felt good to get outside and shoot like that. It’s been a while.

Probably my favorite visual moment of the year, this one plays like a scene plucked from a movie. With no context, it allow’s the viewer to create their own story in their head. Making speculations and assumptions about the relationships between the characters, as well as asking “why?” Though I only knew the people in this film for a short period of my life, they played a very...
A Big Thanks.
Since the holidays are just around the corner, I wanted to thank everyone that has helped assist, hold a flash, driven chase, etc. Though I can’t thank everyone individually in this post, I thought I would put up a few photos from over the past year that reminded me of the good times had.
Thanks!
Mighty Midwest Tour
This past weekend I shot Pat Milbery’s Mighty Midewest Snowboard Camp out at Buck Hill. What is always fun about these kind of shoots like these is that they can turn into mini photo shoots all of a sudden. Usually this would happen when the sun was going down, the light was getting good and everyone was stoked to ride. I thought I would post some of the highlights of the weekend,...
